The International & European Associations Congress, 9th in the series of congresses, took place in Estoril, Portugal. More than 350 participants heard from over 50 speakers over the two days.

The challenge of social media heads the bill as European associations put their cards on the table at this year's Association Congress at the Liverpool ACC. Association Meetings International's deputy editor James Lancaster reports

The 9th Associations Congress in the series, the International & European Associations Congress 2013 is to take place in Estoril, Lisbon, Portugal. After a bidding process, Estoril was selected as the destination for the congress, with partners including the Municipality of Estoril, the Estoril Convention Centre, CPL Events (the PCO), The Palacio Estoril and other hotels.

The need for associations to come together to share their knowledge has never been greater. Increasing challenges and opportunities in associations are driving them to develop innovative solutions to maintain relevancy for their members and sustain profit for themselves.
