5th Association CEO Summit for Executive Heads of Associations
At a time of economic austerity, there is even greater pressure to ensure events are profitable and generating revenues to provide associations with the capital to fund all activities. This stream will offer you new insights through innovative case studies from peer associations on how to best manage and drive revenues from your events department and how to differentiate the event experience with the use of technology. Do you find your proposals and bid documents from host organisations aren’t offering the detail you need? Or the roles of each party are not always clearly defined, leaving certain areas neglected? This session will address how to develop an RFP document which ensures the detail is provided and ensures all areas have been considered for a successful event. When working with members from different cultures, we have a duty to ensure we are communicating in a way that is culturally appropriate for them. We also need to understand how best to deliver messages which will have maximum impact. This session will look at how to communicate with key regions to ensure members are happy, attract new members and maintain a conflict-free relationship with national counterparts. Memberships to associations are likely to be one of the first things for review at a time of budget constraints. Associations need to offer much more in order to provide real value and ensure existing members are retained and new members are recruited. This session will look at new ways of being creative with membership packages and recruitment and retention strategies. This 5th Association CEO Summit will address the challenges facing heads of associations, defining success in addressing these challenges, and adopting a strategy that aligns the organisation with it's board.  Delegates will analyse and discuss issues and decisions that need to be made to safeguard the influence and growth of their organisations.

Increasing Sponsorship and Delivering Greater Exhibitions at Events

Successful Member Engagement and Retention for Federations and Trade Associations
Taking Social Media and User Generated Content to the Next Level
The most effective way to increase event profitability is through sponsorship and exhibitions. As budgets are under tremendous pressure, now is the time to be even more innovative with sponsorship packages and delivering successful exhibitions. This stream will outline how associations are finding new ways of attracting sponsors and exhibitors and ultimately increase event revenue.Associations are continually under pressure to generate more revenue in order to enhance their offering to members. Operating like a commercial organisation will enable associations to effectively identify and put in place growth and expansion strategies and increase revenues. This stream will outline with successful case studies how not-for-profit organisations are operating more like commercial organisations. Justifying membership dues at a time when national associations are striving hard to recruit and retain members is challenging, particularly when there are no regulatory matters to be taken to the EU/UN. This session will outline through successful case studies, how to justify the value of belonging to a federation or trade association as well as how to engage and involve members in activities, projects and the lobbying process. Member associations have mostly embraced the use of social media within their communication strategies. The next step is to look at the use of creating an in-house platform vs. the use of the available platforms. This session will look at the pros and cons of each solution as well as how user generated content can enhance your members offering.
